What opened in 1994 as a single counter in Burjuman has grown into the city’s definitive destination for footwear and accessories. For more than 30 years, Opera Shoes has held to the same discipline — a rare edit, considered service, and an eye for craftsmanship long before it was fashionable to say so. Today the boutique keeps its address at The Walk, JBR — steps from the water, still the icon it set out to be.

A promise, built into a concept store.
VAO takes its name from vow — a promise to deliver exceptionally, always. Opened in 2018 as a commitment to the market, the concept store carried Opera Trading Co. beyond footwear for the first time, gathering ready‑to‑wear, accessories and homeware under one roof. Where Opera Shoes is heritage, VAO is intent — a newer address, built on the same word.
